Paul got Molly a purse and wallet (complete with a few dollars and quarters) for Christmas. The other day Molly wanted to use her money to ride the ice cream truck at the outlet mall. She sat on each of the quarter operated toys and would carefully take a quarter out of her wallet and put it in the machine. She ran out quickly and was eager to get more from her daddy to use at the mall the next day. I told her now she is going to have to earn more quarters!

Little Bakers
The kids, yes plural, helped me bake a cake today. Molly loves to help and usually we wait until after Johnny goes to bed but today we decided to bake early and we let Johnny "help". They were very eager to get their little fingers in the bowl of batter.
Grocery store
Lately Molly has been wanting to play grocery store. I laugh sometimes because Johnny just follows us around and I'm sure he is wondering what on earth we are doing when we pretend play. Anyhow, I thought it was especially cute today when Molly put her purse in her grocery cart before shopping in the pantry.

Granddaddy's
We took a quick overnight trip to Hamilton to visit Granddaddy and Grandma Karleen. The weather was beautiful yesterday. The kids were able to play outside and got to fly a kite for the first time which was especially exciting for Molly. Today we rode the 4-wheeler around the farm, explored, and visited the extended family. Side note, it was a little chillier than I anticipated so Karleen was nice enough to lend me a jacket! Below the kids are having fun playing with play dough with Grandma Karleen.
Family Hike
Daddy did not have to work on Monday so we took advantage of the time and went on a hike. It was a beautiful day, didn't seem like January. We finished the hike with a little picnic lunch.
Happy New Year
We had a few friends over on New Year's Eve. Most left before 9pm but we had a good time none-the-less. Johnny's favorite part of the evening, roasted marshmallows!
Daddy and the kids. Yes, marshmallows followed by suckers equals a sugar high.
