Little Bakers

I have been promising Molly that we would make chocolate chip cookies and finally got around to it yesterday morning.  Molly was insistent on wearing her bakers hat (appropriately so) and as you can see they were both enjoying the chocolate chips!  Johnny was being careful to first put the chips in the measuring cup before eating or adding to the mixing bowl.

Roller Coaster

Paul and I were working on staining the deck today so the kids were left to create their own entertainment.  I gave them a bunch of paints and threw some toys in an empty pool.  After about a half hour, Molly came up with the idea making a roller coaster by sitting in an empty box and going down the pool slide-pretty clever.

Summer

Summer is here and we have been enjoying a lot of time outdoors with the neighbors.  Molly especially loves to play with the neighbor kids.  One of our neighbors cleaned out their garage and we were lucky enough to inherit this 4-wheeler.  As you can see, the kids love it!

San Antonio Fun

We just got back from a quick trip to San Antonio to the JW Marriott.  Our master negotiator daddy was able to get us a great rate and we have been dying to get away.  The hotel was fabulous.  I must say going on a Tues and Wed was perfect because nothing was busy.  The kids had plenty of space in the pool, no wait at restaurants, all in all, we really enjoyed ourselves.

Our friends Steve and Jennifer and two of their kiddos met us for part of the day, Molly really enjoyed having a friend to play with.
Johnny could not get enough of this slide.  Molly, on the other hand, was content trying once with mommy and once with daddy!

Feed me

I guess the other night after bath we were ignoring Johnny's requests for food or maybe we were just not quick enough.  Anyhow, when I went to get him dressed for bed, this is what I found:

Molly's Boutique

One of Molly's favorite books as of late is "Fancy Nancy and the Fabulous Fashion Boutique".  The other day Molly started asking if she could make her own boutique (like Nancy does in the book).  After hearing the request for several days we finally made a boutique in the front yard.  It was a 2 day event but eventually came to a close due to our lack of customers--mommy, daddy, and Johnny could only buy the same things so many times!
Here is Molly's boutique with a make-shift dressing room.  The signs against the wall are announcing her grand opening.
My little shoppers, mommy ran the store so Molly could do some shopping.

Weekend in Hamilton

Last Saturday we made a quick trip to Hamilton to visit Granddaddy and Grandma Karleen.  The kids love to be out in the country and run freely.  We basically spent the whole day outside.
