Just another day

My kids crack me up everyday.  I took a couple random pictures throughout the day today.  This only captured a fraction of what these busy bodies were up today.  The first is of Molly riding her way-too-small horse.  She was insistent that I make "things for her feet" (stirrups) and I was quite impressed with my invention (I use the same tied up blanket idea for making slings when we play hospital!).  I think all moms would agree, being a mom can really bring out your creative side!

Tonight the kids played outside after dinner and just enjoyed running around and playing make-believe.  I love to sit back and watch them laugh with each another.

Mother's Day 2013

We had a superb Mother's Day weekend filled with lots of family time, yummy food, and a lot of little extras from Daddy including grocery shopping and getting my car detailed :)
We had to take a few picture of my sweet babies so here goes. . .

The following progression is too funny (and typical) not to share.
First, Molly goes in for the hug.
Next, Johnny has to get in on hugging Samuel.
Last, I eventually have to pry Johnny away.
Yup, pretty much sums up this daily occurrence!

Muffins with Mom

Last week Molly's preschool hosted "muffins with mom".  Here is a picture of my sweet girl and I and the cute flower pot she made for me!

Dallas + Block Family

We drove to Dallas Saturday morning to meet up with one of my good friends, Jessica, and her family who live in Tulsa.  Jessica and I have been friends since college.  We usually manage to see each other at least once a year but this was the first time to meet in the middle (a little closer for us actually).
Between the two of us we have five kids; ages 7 months, 1, 2, 3, and 4, ha!! We had a fun time just getting to catch up.  I have to give my husband credit for getting us a great deal on some huge suites at the hotel so it allowed the kids room to play and us a chance to talk.
The hotel also had nice grounds complete with a fishing pond and sculpture garden.  Below are Johnny, Benjamin, and Molly feeding the fish.

Jess and I with the littles, Samuel and Rachael.

Funny that we had to nurse at the same time.  My how things have changed since college :)
The bigger kids playing in the hotel room, very fun for them!

I just realized I don't have any daddy pictures but they were there, I don't think we would have braved this adventure alone!

Bye Bye Binky

Since Johnny is now well over 2 1/2 we figured it was high time for him to give up his pacifier.  We have been talking about it for a while but he had no interest in giving it up and honestly, I had no interest in losing more sleep.  I finally made up my mind that it had to be done but the strategy was going to be difficult.  I offered to buy Johnny anything he wanted or let him do something special but like I said, he had no interest.  The best thing I could come up with was a "binky fairy" and with the encouragement and excitement about it from Molly, the plan worked pretty well.  The "fairy" came on several random nights and took a couple binkies at a time and left a small prize.  Johnny is still having a little harder time getting to sleep without the binky but we are managing!

Here is just a cute picture of Johnny and the tower he built last week!

Samuel-7 months

Samuel is 7 months and yes, the time is flying.  We all love this little guy.  He is a happy baby most of the time.  Unfortunately, I don't have any real milestones to report because he continues to be content laying around and watching all the action around here, which I can't complain about.

Theses smiles sure make it easier for me to get out of bed in the morning!!
