Girls Visit

We were so excited to have Brooklynn and Julia visit this  summer.  They were chaperoned by Grandma Jane, who we were equally excited to host.  While here, the girls and I went to Lady Bird Lake and tried out paddle boarding.  It was a fun experience, something I hope to do again.

Molly wasn't feeling well during the visit so we took it easy one afternoon and all went to the movies!

We spent one day at Cow Creek playing all  day in the water.  Uncle Paul bought snorkels  and taught  the kids how to use them.  They enjoyed looking at  the fish underwater.

We also did a lot of just playing and goofing around. We had a fire pit, played ball, made lemonade, had a slumber party, went to the candy store, anything fun we could think of.   And hand stands, the kids practiced hand stands, all the kids. . . everyday. . . I have no explanation for that one!  We sure love those girls and hope they visit us again.

Father's Day in Rockport

We went to the coast for Father's Day weekend.  Typically when we go the coast (since having children) we go for the beach.  Paul grew up going to Rockport in the summer with his mom and grandparents and he has very fond memories of fishing there with his grandpa.  For Father's Day, we found a house to rent that had a fishing pier in the back yard, which was ideal.  I must say the kids really enjoyed fishing and that made their daddy  happy to share the experience with them.  We all caught a few fish; I'm especially proud of the flounder you see me holding below.
We also spent one day at the beach which the kids liked more this year then they have in the past.  The beach is always my favorite!
We finished off with a Father's Day seafood lunch before  heading home.  All in all, a great trip, and yes, we will be going to Rockport again this summer!

Cow Creek

A plus to all the rains we had in Texas this summer is the creeks are flowing.  Our friends showed us a fun little spot along Cow Creek where there are some small rapids for the kids to boogie board on and they can play in the clear water.  The kids were happy there for hours.

Hiking

Slumber party

Last night Molly didn't want to sleep along so I drug her mattress into the boys room and let this happen! Ha, glad they slept late today.
