Tulsa

The kids and I went to Tulsa for a couple days over the weekend to visit one of my good friends, Jessica and her family.  When I saw a sale on Southwest a few months ago offering a ticket to Tulsa for $44 each way I couldn't pass it up so we booked a trip.  We only get to see Jessica, her husband Erik, and son Benjamin, once or twice a year so I was excited to see them and glad our kids could have a chance to play together.  Between the two of us, our kids are 2 1/2, 1 1/2, and 1.  They all did great and we had a fun time visiting new parks, going to a fall festival, and just playing.  Thanks for having us Block family, we miss you!

(I forgot my camera so here are a few random pictures Jessica shared)

Taking things into her own hands

Today we went grocery shopping and bought some sweet corn.  When we arrived home Molly was requesting the corn for lunch.  I tried to convince her to wait until dinner because I didn't want to mess with it.  That is when Molly took matters into her own hands and went on the back porch and proceeded to shuck the corn herself.  When I checked on her progress, this is what I saw:
I was pretty impressed with how well she did.  Here she told me she was just "getting the hair off."

Tough Guy

I am still getting used to the rough and tumble ways of a little boy.  Johnny is constantly climbing and getting into things.  He is always getting hurt but it does not deter him so day after day he has new bumps and bruises.  Today's injuries are particularly ugly.  First he fell on his forehead at the park and an hour later fell off of a small chair (that he was standing on) at our church playgroup.  We play in a room with that low indoor carpet so Johnny ended up with a rug burn on his nose and forehead.

Towel

The following is a shout out to Grandma Jane for her ability to make the kitchen towel on her shoulder part of her everyday attire!!
Mom, I thought of you the minute I saw Molly with that towel.

Wake Up

Molly had a rough night last night and was up a lot during the night.  This morning she was obviously tired and though we let her sleep late we didn't want her to be messed up all day so we sent Johnny in to do our dirty work and wake her.

As you can see, he was ruthless!

Labor Day Weekend

This past weekend Grandpa Dennis and Grandma Jane came to Texas.  As always we were excited for their visit and enjoyed the break, I mean seeing them!  We didn't have much planned for the weekend but kept busy.  I tried to take a lot of pictures because I want my kids to have these memories.
My parents arrived Saturday.  That day just went to church and had Chuys for dinner-Shawna, I know you are jealous!
On Sunday we took the kids to the "jumping place" as Molly calls it, an indoor inflatable playground.

We spent the afternoon dancing.  Molly found that Grandma Jane was a good partner.
After dinner we went out for ice cream.  I have come to find that this is pretty common among all Wagoner descendants but we all love Grandpa Dennis and his love of desserts.

We were so excited that on Monday the temperatures broke (meaning got below) 100 degrees and spent some time outside.

Before my parents left I had to give my dad one little project so Johnny supervised him cleaning out the lint trap.
