Molly's Zoo Field Trip

Molly had her first field trip and it was to the Austin Zoo.  I had already offered to volunteer at western day for Johnny so I could not chaperone the trip.  Luckily one of Molly's good friend's mom went and took a bunch of pictures of Molly for me.  Molly loved the experience, especially riding on the bus!

Western Day

Johnny's preschool had "Western Day" last week.  The school organized several activities; crafts, square dancing, a petting zoo, and horse rides.  I volunteered to help so Samuel was also able to participate in some of the activities.
I have to give credit to my friend Melissa (Johnny's best friend's mom) for taking all pictures, she came prepared with an actual camera, not just her phone!

Easter

Easter consisted of egg dying, Easter baskets, egg hunts, church, lots of pictures, and lots and lots of candy.

Minnesota Cousins Visit

We were so excited when we heard Uncle Shawn, Aunt Shawna, Noah, Micah, and Celia would be spending their spring break in Austin!  We really enjoyed their visit.  I loved seeing the kids interact.  It is amazing that as infrequent as they see one another, they still hold a special bond and are able to play and be friends immediately.
While here we spent the days swimming, fossil finding, playing, and to top it off, a trip to Sea World.  Maybe we can convince Shawn and Shawna to make this an annual vacation. . . or better yet, move back here!!!

*sidenote: Shawna and I were watching the kids play, we look over and this little guy (Samuel) is on top of the table entertaining all the kids. Yes, this is totally his personality!

Spring Break in Nebraska

The kids and I spent 5 night in Nebraska in March during Molly's spring break.  Since we were unable to go over the holidays, we were glad to have a chance to visit.  We spent 3 night at Uncle Darren's where the favorite activities were playing with cousins and jumping on the trampoline. . . for hours. . . everyday.  Another highlight was the Omaha Zoo, and the snow we saw there!

We were able to get in a couple celebrations while in Nebraska.  We attended a family friend's wedding and celebrated Mallori turning 15!

After our time in Council Bluffs, we went to Wood River for a couple days.  The highlights of that trip were the usual, Grandma's toy room and Simon's farm.  We really enjoyed the trip to the farm.  Simon was gracious enough to take time from his day to get out his horse and give all the kids a turn to ride.  They were also able to bottle feed a baby cow and help feed the big cows.

Donuts with Dad

Johnny's preschool hosted "donuts with dad" one morning.  They obviously ate donuts and then made a craft together.  Here is the final product:
