Christmas 2011
Christmas 2011 has come to a close. We spent 5 fun-filled days in Wood River and were able to spend time with Grandparents, Uncles, Aunts, and many cousins. We were scheduled to finish off our Christmas festivities with Paul's family last night but unfortunately the kids and Paul were sick so instead we spent time at home relaxing. I have a lot of pictures from our trip so will try and narrow it down.Cousins making Christmas trees:

Kearney Children's Museum
While visiting my parents last week, we went to the Kearney Children's Museum. I was pleasantly surprised by how many great exhibits they had for the kids. Here a few pictures to capture the highlights.Johnny dressing up in boots:

Snow
Molly has been excited to see the snow at Grandpa Dennis and Grandma Jane's house. There is not much snow left in Wood River but Molly made the best of it. Grandma Jane picked out winter outfits for the kids including boots and they had fun jumping on the snow.
New bed
We delivered Christmas cookies to Granny the other day and she gave Molly a gift, a cool new bed. She really likes it and enjoyed a nap in it as soon as I set it up.

Visiting Santa
We have had a couple failed attempts at seeing Santa but last night when I told Molly we were going to visit Santa today, she said she would sit on his lap. I was not sure that she would really go through with it but she did and even talked to him. Johnny, on the other hand, was still scared and cried. We tried to bribe him with a sucker but that didn't even work! Maybe next year. . .

Decorating Cookies
Today we had a couple of friends over to decorate Christmas cookies. Molly helped me bake the cookies last night including rolling out the dough and cutting out the shapes. She was so excited for her friends to arrive today, she sat by the front door waiting. Johnny decorated one cookie but was mostly interested in the "eating"part, typical!

Mommy's Birthday
I had a great birthday today. I will admit I feel more sad about turning 31 then turning 30 but the reality is I have a lot to be thankful for and my life is pretty good. Paul and I spent the day together. We did pedicures, massages, shopping, dinner, and brought home ice cream cake to share with the kids. All in all, a fun and relaxing day.
Playing at the mall
I have some catching up to do now that I have a new laptop to replace my old one that suddenly broke a week ago. Here are a few pictures of the kids playing on the toys at the mall. We met some friends and attempted to see Santa. We had little success with Santa but were content doing a little shopping and a lot of playing.

Indoor fun
It was rainy over the weekend so we had to entertain ourselves indoors.
Blanket rides were a hit!

And they enjoyed their indoor picnic.
Christmas Tree
We set out Sunday morning to find a Christmas tree and have daddy cut it down. Unfortunately, the tree farms don't open until noon and we were in the car at 9:30am. We decided to stop at a little tree stand and let Molly choose a tree. She wanted a small one and found one just the right size. The kids had a fun time decorating the tree and the house. . . now if only some little boy would leave the decorations alone!

Thanksgiving
We had a nice Thanksgiving. Granddaddy, Grandma Karleen, Granny, and Grandpa Tom all joined us for Thanksgiving lunch. Our taste-tester, giving daddy the approval for his mashed potatoes.

The next morning the kids were excited to help Freckles (granddaddy's dog) finish their scraps.

Visit to Nebraska
This is going to be a long one. The kids and I traveled to Wood River last Tuesday and stayed with my parents until Friday. My parents flew back to Texas with us for the weekend and watched the kids overnight on Saturday so Paul and I could go to a friend's birthday party in San Antonio. In typical Wagoner fashion, we visited many family members and took many pictures.
Playing with Grandma and Grandpa.
We had lunch with Aunt Judy and Aunt Mary Frances, Valentinos pizza and mint pie for dessert, yum! Judy made this sweet little apron for Molly and she loves it.
Sonya and Bryce stopped at my parents for a visit.
For some reason they enjoyed playing in the pack n play, and yes, Johnny is under the blanket!
On Thursday evening Dan and Marlene, Tom and Adele, and Simon and family went to my parents for dinner. Unfortunately I don't have any good pictures from that evening but we had a nice time catching-up with everyone. We had a great visit and will be back in Wood River December 20th so looking forward to seeing even more people next time!

One afternoon we went to Simon and Mandi's "farm". The kids were excited to see horses, cows, a goat, a rabbit, and the highlight for Molly, riding on a tractor (actually a combine but it's all the same to her) AND sitting in Uncle Dan's bus!!
