Haircuts

Molly has been really into pretending lately and usually drags Johnny into her games.  This is what I found them doing today, she was pretending to give him a haircut.

Then it was Johnny's turn to cut Molly's hair.

Cousin Thomas

My cousin Sarah and her family recently relocated to Austin.  She started work as a teacher but her daycare was closed for a couple days last week.  We filled in as the babysitter for her son Thomas.  He did very well here.  He is very mild mannered and my kids had fun playing with him.  I didn't get many good pictures but here is one in the pool.

So Sweet

The kids here started school on Monday.  On our street we have 2 families with kids going back to school and 1 teacher so I thought it would be nice to bake them some cookies on Sunday.  Molly was up for the job of delivering the cookies to her friends and did an awesome job.  She rang each door bell while I hung back, gave the cookies and said, "have a good day at school."  Yes, it made my heart melt, she is sometimes quite shy but did a great job and made me very proud!

Visiting Nebraska

The kids and I went to Nebraska for a week at the beginning of August.  I forgot my camera so I am way behind posting as I have been trying to get pictures from several different sources.  We had a fun time.  We spent one night in Council Bluffs vising Aunt Kristen and the girls (Uncle Darren was out of town).  Uncle Shawn, Aunt Shawna, Noah, Micah, and Celia also met us there so we were able to spend some time with them.  After that we went to Wood River and stayed the rest of the week with Grandma Jane and Grandpa Dennis.  We were able to visit with many aunts, uncles, and cousins and enjoyed seeing all of them.  It was my first time to meet my cousins Nico and Katy's kids so definitely glad their visits from NY and Florida coordinated with mine.

It's nice when your grandma runs a daycare out of her house.  The kids sure enjoy all the toys.  Above Molly and Johnny are sitting with Massi and Enzo (cousin Katy's boys).

Johnny's 2 year stats

Johnny's 2 year statistics are as follows:

Weight- 30 lbs (75th percentile)
Height- 34.25 (40-50th percentile)

He is weighing more than Molly at this point.  She is lagging behind at about 28.5-29lbs.

Johnny Paul is 2

On August 7th, Johnny turned 2 years old.  We had several celebrations to mark the occasion. The first party was in Nebraska and Grandma and Grandpa's house.  My cousin Nico's son, Finn, has a birthday the same day as Johnny and coincidentally they were also in Nebraska so we had a dual party.

We spent the morning of Johnny's birthday flying back home.  That evening we celebrated with apple pie and ice cream.

We had one last "two two" train party over the weekend with Paul's family.  Everyone joined us for dinner followed by cake ,and as you can see, Johnny really enjoyed the chocolate ice cream cake.
